Our team developed a novel variable-mode robotic wheel designed to expand the mobility capabilities on any terrain. Unlike traditional rigid spoke wheels or legacy compliant tire systems, this wheel operates in two modes: a high-speed roll mode for efficient long-distance travel and a low-speed crawl mode for negotiating challenging terrains.
